In this day and age of changing technology, we find that our patients are very interested in what is happening in the hearing health arena. We like to keep our patients informed and updated when new products are introduced. It is also very important to us that they are pleased with our service and the hearing aids they select.

In order to pass on very interesting and important information, we send out "SoundBytes" on a monthly basis. We post them on our website as well, so they can be read at any time.

Just click on the link to the right. All our SoundBytes are listed here for your convenience!

Do I Need 2 Hearing Instruments?

If you seem to be having hearing loss in both ears, have you ever wondered, "Is it really necessary to wear two hearing aids, or can I get by with just one?" There are four main reasons why listening with both ears is superior to listening with just one.

1. Improved ability to understand speech in background noise situations.
2. Improved ability to locate the direction of sound in space.
3. When hearing ability is not optimized in one ear, there can be a potential deterioration of the brain's ability to process speech information coming from that ear.
4. When a hearing device is worn in one ear only, it is necessary to be aware of positioning that ear toward the sound source. This can provide challenges when people are on both sides.
