At the Audiology and Hearing Aid Center we take the time to show you the latest technological improvements, and discuss your hearing loss needs based on our assessment of a complete diagnostic evaluation

Services to Improve Your Hearing
The Audiology and Hearing Aid Center is an advanced diagnostic and treatment facility. Our center is equipped with the following technology to help in the assessment and treatment of hearing impairments:
  • Large walk-in booths
  • Clinical audiometers
  • Tympanometry
  • Hearing aid analyzers
  • Computerized probe-microphone
  • Video Otoscopy
One of the most advanced diagnostic tools used by audiologists in the detection of abnormalities of the outer ear is the Video Otoscope. It shows you on a TV monitor exactly what is going on inside the ear canal and at the end of the eardrum, often times finding wax build-up or skin debris, which is one of the most common causes of hearing aid failure. It can also show us whether there is damage or abnormalities of the eardrum or ear canal.

Cerumen (Earwax) Management
Cerumen is extracted utilizing a lighted loop or curette to grasp and pull moist cerumen out of the ear canal with suction, and removing any remaining debris. If the cerumen appears hard and dry, a three-day course of a carbamide peroxide cerumenolytic is recommended to soften the cerumen before removing. For any wax buildup that cannot be easily removed by the audiologist due to other medical contraindications, you will be referred to your medical doctor for further treatment.

Audiological Evaluations
Complete hearing testing for ages four to adult provided by a licensed clinical audiologist. Evaluations include measures of hearing sensitivity for air and bone conducted sounds, measures of speech discrimination ability and, when necessary, assessment of the middle ear function (impedance audiometry), and special testing to determine the location of dysfunction.

Hearing Aid Evaluation/Real Ear Measurement
With our real ear measurement system, we can now measure and record the actual performance of your hearing aids while they are in your ears. This computer analysis helps us to verify that your hearing aid prescription is precisely matched to your individual requirements.
