Monica Morgan, Au.D., FAAA, Doctor of Audiology
Monica is a recent graduate of Arizona State University where she shares the honor of
being a member of the first graduating class of Doctors of Audiology. Additionally, she
earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of New Orleans, where she is from originally.
During her graduate career at ASU, she received a well-rounded clinical education by having the
opportunity to intern at a variety of sites including the Phoenix Veteran's Administration and two
local hospitals. For her externship year, she decided to split her externship between two sites,
Banner Baywood Medical Center and the Audiology and Hearing Aid Center. It was here at the
Audiology and Hearing Aid Center where she chose to begin her postdoctoral career.
Her desire is to improve the quality of life for individuals with hearing loss through the use of
aural rehabilitation and hearing instruments. She also has significant experience in balance assessment and treatment,
and has been involved in balance testing here at the Audiology and
Hearing Aid Center since June of 2007.
When not at work, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, as well as her extended family.
Her decision to study Audiology occurred at a crossroads in her life. Following the tragedy of 9-11, Monica
felt compelled to make a meaningful contribution to society and found direction and inspiration from her sister,
Doctor of Audiology, Kimberly Gates.
