It's about the size of a pea, the world's first digital completely-in-the-canal hearing aid. Developed by Widex Hearing Instruments, this device automatically adjusts volume, high and low frequencies, feedback and background noise. Cathy Kurth, a clinical audiologist in Scottsdale, believes it will appeal to patients who have resisted hearing aids because of the vanity factor. "Now we have a hearing aid that provides the highest quality sound processing with the cosmetic benefit all wrapped up in a device that fits in the tip of your finger,' Kurth said.
